If there is anything I have learned over the last couple years of rugged journey, it is that we do, indeed, have a choice.
Joy does not find you.
Bitterness is not chasing you down. You alone get to choose.
You don't just walk into jealousy or discontentment. Immense happiness or a fulfilled life.
YOU.
You alone get to choose.
Yes, we have emotions.
Yes, sometimes our hearts cant help but feel what we wish not too.
ABSOLUTELY YES, sometimes life throws us a curve ball that leaves us reeling from it all, knowing it would be our right to choose less than best.
And, I personally find it ok to wallow in the messy places of deep emotions, just for a bit.
But then, there is a choice to be made. Even in the hardest of circumstances, you get to choose.
On the worst day, you get to choose.
Today, this moment, amidst whatever circumstance you may be facing or whatever emotions you may be feeling, you GET to choose.
Choose life.
Choose joy.
Choose to see the good in all things.
Ultimately, choose HOPE. Hope in the One who is THE giver of true joy.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
